Bayhawks Cross Country is Back!
Bristol CC had 4 runners compete this past Saturday at the UMass Dartmouth Cross Country invitational meet. There were 45 Women's teams and 43 Men's teams, totaling over 800 runners competing at this invite. Leading the Bristol CC Women in the 5K Varsity race was Alice Santana at a 7:50 minute mile pace, coming in at 24:22.39 overall. Following closely, team captain Heidi Freitas, finished at a time of 25:12.2 (8:06 pace). This was a great start to the season, as both women nailed their goal times.

In the Men's Sub-Varsity 8K race, Bristol's Nate Gewandter finished his first race ever at 43:39. Not far behind, Dillon Corvelo covered the distance at a very solid 46:01.23 to complete his first 8k race. Both men ran smart races, running very consistent miles.

"I'm overjoyed with the way these athletes performed at the first meet of the season. We set individual goals and they all beat or came in right on goal, which was a great confidence builder. We now have a solid starting point to build upon. This is a young team, and we are just getting started rebuilding this program. The future is bright for Bristol XC and these athletes are paving the way for others." -Coach Parmentier
