Knights overcome slow start, hold off Bristol for sixth straight win

Haverhill, MA (November 29, 2022) – The #12 nationally ranked Northern Essex Community College men's basketball team picked up their sixth straight win of the season on Tuesday evening with a 79-69 final over visiting Bristol Community College. With the win the Knights improve to 10-1 on the season and remain unbeaten in conference play at 5-0

The Knights got off to slow start in the game first 10 minutes and found themselves trailing by as many as six points in the early going before they opened up a 15 point halftime advantage at 45-30. Bristol would make a run at the midway point of the second half and closed the lead to within four points before NECC sealed the game at the foul line in the final two minutes of the game.

Cristian Kinsley (Lawrence) was the game's high scorer and led for Knights in double figures as he dropped in 22 points including five three pointers, four of which came in the first half.

Kinsley was following by the Lawrence duo of Luis Reynoso and Angel Herrera who scored 19 and 12 respectively. Kevin Monteiro (Somerville) joined the group in double figures with 10 points.

Reynoso continued his strong play on the boards with 13 rebounds while adding 3 blocked shots and 3 steals on the defensive end of the court.

The Knights will hit the road for their next three games starting with a trip to defending Region 21 champion Community College of Rhode Island on Thursday evening with tip off set for 7:00pm in Warwick. NECC will return home on Thursday December 8th.
