MBB Comeback Falls Short at Bristol, 63-61

TAUNTON, Mass. ---- The Massasoit men's basketball team erased a 14-point halftime deficit to hold the lead in the final minute of action, but Bristol made two clutch free throws to earn the 63-61 victory.

Massasoit trailed Bristol 29-15 at the break before exploding for 46 points after intermission.

Amari Andrew-Brown and Alex Morrison combined for 49 of Massasoit's 61 points. Andrew-Brown finished with a game-high 27 points, along with five rebounds and five assists in the loss.

Morrison poured in 22 points, 20 coming in the second half. The freshman finished 6-of-13 from 3-point range.

Dani Ruiz-Martinez filled out the stat sheet for the Warriors, with four points, nine rebounds, five assists and four steals.

Massasoit's last three contests have been decided by a total six points. The Warriors defeated Quinsigamond 62-60 on Monday, before falling to Northern Essex (79-77) and Bristol (63-61) to close out the regular season.

The Warriors (7-12, 7-11 R21) will play the waiting game to see the final standings of Region 21 with Saturday marking the regular season finale. The top eight teams earn a spot in the regional tournament. As of Saturday, Massasoit sat in seventh place in the league standings as regional regular season play wraps up on Sunday.
