Bayhawks Fight until the End to Win, 83-74

The Bayhawks broke away from Mass Bay late in the second half of last night's game and in the standing's with an 83-74 victory giving them sole possession of second place in the Region XXI division III standing's.

The first half of action was back and forth and eventually the teams went into halftime even, 40-40. It was not until midway through the second half that Mass Bay pulled away with an eleven point lead, but a pesky Bayhawks defense and an uptempo offense brought Bristol right back in the game and eventually taking the lead for good.

Jerell Gomes, a sophomore guard from Providence, RI led the way with 35 points, including seven three's.  Joshua Nelson added an impressive 22 points on the night, including key three point field goals late in the game.

The Bayhawks are on the road this Saturday afternoon at 3pm, at Uconn Avery Point.
