Bristol Bayhawks Sophomore, Jerell Gomes earned national recognition being named an NJCAA 3rd Team All-American this week.  One month after being named 1st Team All-region, he becomes the second member of the men's basketball program to be named to the All-American Team.

Gomes adds another accolade to an already impressive career with the Bayhawks.  He goes down in the record books as the first basketball athlete to reach 1,000 career points.  He accumulated 1,005 points in his career.  His 613 point season in 2015-16 put him 5th in the country in total points and 10th in points per game.

Over the course of two seasons, Gomes helped lead Bristol to two MCCAC Finals and two Region XXI appearances, including a Region XXI championship game.

The NJCAA standout will soon be making a decision on his four-year institution.
