Men's Basketball Continues Winning Ways

Fall River, MA --  Bristol men's basketball will go into next Tuesday's showdown against #7 BHCC undefeated. Nationally ranked #9 Bristol Community College fought off a tough Quincy College with a 89-65 win.

The Bayhawks were led by a monster game from their 6'8 big man Joshua Winbush (So. Lake Charles, LA) who had 24 points 20 rebounds and 3 blocked shots. Sophomore Zacaree Viega (Riverside, RI) had a great first half of play scoring 14 of his 16 points. Viega also added 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Sophomore PG Marcus McCarthy (East Providence, RI) was solid adding his 3rd double double of the year with 12points 11 rebounds and 6 assists.

Bristol's bench proved to be the story of the day. The bench's defensive energy and speed bothered Quincy College in the second half. Quincy had brought the game to as close as 6 points 58 - 52 with 11:16 remaining. However, the Quad of Sophomore Dontell Rodriquez (Providence, RI) and Freshmen Malik Charles (Taunton, MA), Malik Morris (Fall River, MA), and Charles Martinez (Providence, RI) were all pests that disrupted Quincy's offensive rhythm. Their spark helped Bristol go on a 9-0 run over a 2 minute span bringing the score to 67-52 with 9 minutes remaining.
The rest of the way Bristol outscored Quincy 22-13 to go away with the 89-65 win.

Men's Basketball is back in action on Tuesday December 11th when they travel to Bunker Hill Community College. Tip-off is set for 7:30 pm.
