Bayhawks Soar Past Nassau, 82-65

Warwick, RI -- Bristol Community College men's basketball delivers a big win against the Nassau Community College Lions (NY), 82-65.  The Bayhawks arguably played its best defensive game of the year holding a good offensive team to a season low 65 points.

Dontell Rodriquez (Providence, RI) was tasked to play returning All-American (2017) Cheyanne Nettelton who is one of the top scorers in the country (23 ppg). Nettelton was key in Nassau's run last season where they made it all the way to national championship game. Bristol's Rodriquez was able to slow down Nettleton and keep him from gaining an offensivie rhythm.

On the offensive side Bristol was led by sophomores Zac Viega (Riverside, RI) 23 points and 9 rebounds, Joshua Winbush (Lake Charles, LA) 17 points 7 rebounds and 5 blocks, Marcus McCarthy 15 points 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Rounding out four players in double digits Dontell Rodriquez contributed with a solid 13 points.

The win boosts Bristol's record to 13-1 and should help them rise in the national rankings. Bristol's next game is on the road Tuesday at Massasoit Community College. Game time is 7:30pm.
