Bayhawks Hold Off Pesky Bulldogs for a 95-92 Victory

Taunton, MA -- In their third game in as many days, men's basketball digs deep to secure the win over Bunker Hill Community College on Saturday afternoon, 95-92. The win improves the Bayhawks record to 9-4 in Region XXI and 12-4 overall with four games remaining in the regular season.

Bunker Hill started the game with fast paced play on both ends of the court giving the Bayhawks a fit with their defensive pressure forcing turnovers and shots late into the shot clock. The Bulldogs jumped out to a 16-7 lead when Head Coach, Brian Fernandes called a timeout with 15:13 to play in the first half to regroup his team. The Bayhawks would take a 60-51 lead into halftime.

Bristol's leading scorer Dion Hazard Jr found himself in foul trouble in the first half and later fouled out with 12:02 remaining to play. Bunker Hill would tie the game 91-91 on a three point basket by Khalil Lofton with 1 minute remaining in the game but the Bayhawks were able regain control and go on to win 95-92.

Abou Jobe led the way with 29 points including 5 three point baskets and a perfect 10-10 from the free throw line. Tyler Nunnery added 23 points and Tyler Cicione 15 points. Nate Gewandter was impressive on the boards and added 10 points for Bayhawks.
