Men's Soccer Defeated By Tough Springfield Team 3-2

The Bristol Bayhawks men's soccer team lost a hard fought contest to season nemesis Springfield Tech. 3-2 on Saturday.

The Bayhawks got off to a promising and strong start on the afternoon by scoring the first 2 goals of the contest. Roberto Dos Santos scored his 5th goal of the season to get the scoring started for the Bayhawks. Dos Santos' goal was assisted by Yorik Sajbin. The Bayhawks then scored again to give themselves a 2 goal advantage in the first half on an unassisted goal by Osla DeBrito, his 9th goal of the season.

The defense tried to hold strong after allowing a Springfield goal late in the first half, but struggled in the second half to stop the aggressive Springfield offense. Springfield ended up scoring 2 more goals to take a lead that they would not relinquish on the afternoon.

The Bayhawks finished the regular season 10-5 and will now play Saturday at Durfee High School in the Region XXI Tournament against Springfield at 5:45 p.m.
