Joe Gil Steps Down as Men's Soccer Coach

After four season's as the Bayhawks Head Men's Soccer Coach, Joe Gil decides to step down from his post.  After taking over after the start of the 2014 season, Coach Gil built a nationally recognized men's soccer program and became the first head coach at Bristol Community College to lead his team to a Region XXI Championship and advance to the National Junior College Athletic Association National Tournament.

Coach Gil has accumulated a 33-28-2 record over four seasons qualifying every year for the post season, including two NJCAA Region XXI Runner-Up finishes and a Region XXI Championship.  He has also recruited and coached eighteen NJCAA All-Region players, one All-American, and one NJCAA National Player of the Week during his time at Bristol Community College.

"It has been a pleasure working with Joe and watching him take our men's soccer program to another level by keeping local talent here in the area.  I would like to thank him for all of his efforts and wish him the very best," said Derek Viveiros, Director of Athletics.

Prior to joining the Bayhawks in 2014, Gil was a teacher in the New Befdord Public School System and coached soccer at both New Bedford High School and Tiverton High School for thirty-two years.
