Bayhawks Women's Basketball Has Their Best Game of the Season!

Your Bayhawks Women's Basketball Team lost to UConn Avery Point on Saturday afternoon, 101-34.

Head Coach Kyle Erha shared his thoughts on the game, "They're clearly the third best team in the region this year and we put forth our best effort of the season. We scored more points in this game than we have in our past two games combined, having broken our scoring total in either of the past two by the half. I was really encouraged with how we approached this game, especially considering we were missing two players and playing with just five players today. We'd talked about how the last two games we let happen to us, we were too passive, just allowing the game to happen around us. Today we stopped watching and finally played and it was fantastic to watch. Our rebounding was at a season high, which is a huge indicator of our engagement. We were down 44-20 at the half and ran out of gas in the second half with no subs today. On top of that, we closed out the game with four players as Aliah Goncalves rolled an ankle in the final minutes of the game.

Super proud of what they did today and how they competed. We're not focused on the scoreboard, we're focused on putting in out best effort every time out and improving what that best effort is. We did that today without a doubt.

Tieyanna Yancey has been struggling with her shot and while she didn't entirely find it today, she did start to see it fall and scored a career high 30 points to lead us. Aliah Goncalves chipped in with four points. And while no one else saw their shot fall, everyone played their best game of the season."
