Women's Soccer Outplayed By Talented Holyoke Team By A Score Of 6-1

The Bayhawks women's soccer team was defeated by a very talented Holyoke team on Sunday by a score of 6-1.

The Bayhawks had trouble mounting an offensive attack, and could only come up with 3 shots on net on the afternoon. The Bayhawks did have a 1-0 lead shortly after the half, on a fancy goal by Lindsay Boutin, which was unassisted. Amanda Tiburtino and Vanessa DeCosta also added some offensive pressure on the day.

The defense was stout in the first half, but had trouble holding off the talented Holyoke team's offensive pressure late in the game. Holyoke managed to get 20 shots on net for the game and were relentless with their pressure. Emily Rand made some great saves in net for the Bayhawks.

The loss dropped the women to 3-5-1 on the season, but the Bayhawks have clinched the number 4 seed in the region tournament. This will be the Bayhawks first appearance in postseason play in school history.

The women next play on Tuesday at 3:30 versus Massasoit, at Britland Park in Fall River.
