The Bristol Bayhawks women's soccer team upset division one Massasoit at home on Tuesday in double overtime by a score of 3-2.
The women played outstanding, and beat the talented Warriors by applying constant offensive pressure and tight defense on the afternoon. Alexis Moniz first got the Bayhawks on the board with a beautiful goal off a corner kick, which was assisted by Tori Borges. The Bayhawks struck again with a goal by team leading goal scorer Lindsay Boutin, who was assisted by Alexis Moniz. The game then went into double overtime, when Erin Bosse delivered the dramatic game winner to give the Bayhawks the upset win over a very talented Massasoit team.
The defense played stellar as well allowing 8 shots on net and keeping the Warriors below their 3 goal a game average.
