Alyssa Araujo Commits to Bristol

The Bristol Women's Soccer team officially welcomes Alyssa Araujo from New Bedford, MA to the soccer program.  Araujo recently signed a letter of intent with Coach Jason Tassinari and returning all-American forward Alyssa Tortora

Araujo comes to Bristol after a successful 4 year career at New Bedford High School. She also played club for her dad Valdir with St. Michaels.

"We're excited that Alyssa has decided to attend Bristol as a student-athlete this fall", says Coach Taz.  "She is technically gifted, passionate about the game, has a great work-rate, and has played for some great coaches.  She's also academically driven and will be a great teammate."

The Women's Soccer team is coming off a historic 2019 season in Coach Tassinari's first season.  The team finished with a 12-3-1 overall record, were Region 21 regular season co-champions, and lost in penalty kicks to Holyoke in the Region 21 Finals.    The team is graduating 6 players, 4 starters.

"My recruiting focus this off-season is to build up our midfield depth and to replace our 3 outstanding central midfielders who are graduating (Kassidy Raposo, Makenzie Kennedy, and Makayla Pinkston).  They were outstanding leaders and the central anchors of our team.  I'm confident that Alyssa can step in to one of those 3 positions and make a huge impact for us this fall.  We're excited to have her for the next 2 years."
