Your Bristol Bayhawks Women's Soccer team lost their season opener to New Hampshire Technical Institute 7-1 on Thursday. Jillian Swass (#12) scored Bristols only goal unassisted and Goalie Gillian Abbott made 8 saves. Coach Jason Tassinari had this to say after the game, "We played a very talented and athletic NHTI team that had already played 2 games. Our fitness level really hurt us and our defending was too inconsistent. Having said that, I thought my team played hard, stayed positive, and really competed even though we had low numbers and were missing a few starters. We'll watch the film of the game, address and fix the issues we had, and be ready to go next game. Its a resilient, talented, tough, close knit group and I'm confident they will bounce back and learn from the loss. In my opinion, playing a quality opponent in our first game of the season on the road is a good thing, win or lose. We will be fine. There's absolutely no concern or panic." We look forward to the rest of the season! Join us on Wednesday 9/14 at the Taunton Campus for the Women's Soccer Home Opener against the Bunker Hill Community College Bulldogs!
