On Monday February 27th, the Bristol Bayhawks defeated the Bunker Hill Bulldogs 73-71. It was a wire-to-wire close game that was tied at halftime (35-35) and with 10 minutes left in the second half (55-55). Freshman Isaac Petruski was the hero by tipping in an offensive rebound at the final second of the game. Bristol finishes the regular season with a 17-10 overall record.
Freshman Marquise Pina led all scorers with 25 points. Pina hit 6 three-pointers and grabbed 4 rebounds. Other Bristol contributors included Marcus White 15 points 6 rebounds, Camden Morin 14 points 8 rebounds and Sophomore Aidan Rock 11 points, 8 rebounds 4 steals. Coach Fernandes said, "It was a great regular season, I couldn't be prouder of this group. And the better news is that we still get to play and coach more basketball!"
The Bayhawks have now clinched the 4th seed of the regional tournament. Bristol will host the Massasoitt Warriors on Wednesday February 28th at 7pm.
