Your Bayhawks Women's Basketball Team were at home Saturday afternoon for a key early season conference game versus Gateway Community College from New Haven Ct.
Bristol overcame a first half 20 point deficit, increasing their defensive pressure mid second quarter to go into halftime down 43-36.
The second half was also played tough with both teams taking leads and Gateway up 12 points with three minutes to go when Bristol went beast mode pressing and creating turnovers to push the game into overtime.
Bristol continued their pressure in overtime scoring 20 points during the extra session and winning the game 118-107.
Jayda Fortin, the second leading scorer nationally, finished with 43 points, Katera James had a career high 38 pts and Atiya Rivera finished with 20.
The Bristol bench also came up big for a great team victory.
Bristol Women's Basketball is now 8-2 overall.
