Bristol Ends Regular Season with a 63-61 Win Over Massasoit

Taunton, MA -- Bristol (12-5/15-5) hangs on for the win over Massasoit Community College after giving up a 14 point lead late in the second half on Saturday afternoon. A couple of free throws in the closing seconds of the game was enough to seal the victory for the Bayhawks, 63-61.

The Bayhawks cruised through the first half holding the Warriors to just 15 points, while the Bayhawk offense put up 29 points.

The Warriors would go on to outscore Bristol in the second half 46-34, but it was not enough as Braylon Johnson an Dion Hazard Jr knocked down clutch three point baskets late in the game and a couple of free throws from Nate Gewandter and Hazard Jr sealed the deal.

Dion Hazard Jr led all scorers with 31 points. Tyler Nunnery added 12 points and Nate Gewandter 10 points for Bayhawks.

Massasoit was led by Alex Andrew-Brown's 27 points, while teammate Alex Morrison knocked down 6 three point baskets for 20 points.

Bristol is scheduled to host a first round Region XXI Tournament game on Wednesday February 23, 2022 as the number four seed in an 8 team tournament.
